The Division of Community and Public Health announces the recruitment for the Director of the Center for Local Public Health Services (CLPHS).  The Center strives to support and strengthen Missouri’s public health system through collaboration, coordination and initiative building with 115 local and city public health jurisdictions across the state. Working hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday with an annual salary of $48,504 - $78,732 dependent upon the successful applicant’s education and experience.  Employment in this position may be eligible for the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Primary duties include, and are not limited to:
  • Leadership and management of 17 Center staff including clinical, professional and technical team members.
  • Provide the overall facilitation of DHSS’s relationship with local public health agencies, setting the strategic direction and vision for the Center while remaining consistent with the interests of State and local policy makers.
  • Ensure strong working relationships with local public health agencies through the oversight of collaborative efforts with other DHSS Divisions and programs.
  • Facilitate the development of professional standards and continuous learning opportunities for the public health workforce.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong organizational thinking, collaborative, negotiation and partnership development expertise.
  • Proven track record of successfully working with state and local government and community-based organizations.
The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of the Division and Department management teams. A positive sense of initiative and service-driven demeanor will best equip the candidate for this position. Experience with personnel and budget management, contract development and management, and policy development and implementation will enhance the ideal skill set.
