This Public Health Forum is provided by MoALPHA for the purpose
of encouraging and facilitating the discussion of public health issues.
State, local and national public health practitioners are welcome as well as
other health professionals and the general public. Since this is public
discussion arena, a few simple guidlines should be followed:
- Discussions, while they may be "spirited", should
always be respectful. Before you post a comment, try to think about how what
you are going to say will be perceived by others when they read it.
- Be slow to take offense. If a comment irritates
you or makes you angry, think about what the other person has said for awhile
before reacting. IF you are still upset, respond in a moderate way and
explain your feelings. Our experience is that it is VERY easy to misinterpret
written comments and statements. Give the other person the benefit of the
doubt.
- When attributing a statement to another person or
source please give a reference if at all possible. This is certainly NOT
required but it will facilitate a more objective evidence based discussion.
- Personal insults or insulting remarks about
agencies, institutions or businesses are not appropriate and should not be
posted in this forum.
