August 25, 2008 DHSS Releases Report Of Time Critical Diagnosis System The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services released its report of the Time Critical Diagnosis System this week. The report outlines recommendations to advance emergency medical care for stroke and STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) patients. The report provides the framework to begin implementing House Bill 1790, which was signed into law in July by Gov. Matt Blunt. The report will aid discussions on developing new state regulations that create specific standards for designating stroke and STEMI centers. The regulatory review process involves public comment and takes a minimum of six months to complete. |
