January 8, 2009 Nixon Appoints Donnelly To Lead DHSS Today, Gov.-elect Jay Nixon announced his intention to appoint Margaret Donnelly as director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. A former member of the Missouri House of Representatives, she served four years on the Budget Committee, with two years as ranking member on the Appropriations Subcommittee for Health and Senior Services, Mental Health and Social Services. Donnelly has served on the Children and Families Committee and the Senior Security Committee. She was a member of the Joint Committee on MO HealthNet and the Joint Committee on Government Accountability. She also served on the Medicaid Reform Commission. Donnelly’s appointment is subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate. The announcement follows Nixon’s December appointment of Ron Levy to lead the Missouri Department of Social Services.
